• Artisan Silk  This is a komon kimono for everyday wear with an overall shibori tie-dye design of circles, forming abstract flowers with yellow and orange highlights against the coral background.  Shibori involves individually hand-tying thread around each circle to form the design.  In the background are thousands of concentric "bumps" or smaller hand-tied tiny tufts that create a subtly three dimension fabric.  Many, many hours of highly skilled labor was expended to create this wearable art. 
• Unique design   Each vintage kimono was made one at a time.  The silk was woven just for this one kimono.  You can be confident that no one else will be wearing anything like it.  The master artisans are retiring and very few have the skills to create these works of art.  
• Universal sizing  The distance between the shoulder seams is a generous 24.5 inches and the length is  a versatile 47.5 inches.  This duster has openings underneath the arms as is traditional in order to accommodate multiple layers of robes. 
• Vintage condition   The condition of this vintage garment is excellent.
