This scarf was made from a beautiful furisode kimono that would have originally cost thousands of dollars. The background has a damask weave with an abstract design of double lines and flowers. It has a great deal of gold leaf, as background to the hand painting, stenciling and outlining. Some of the kiku (chrysanthemums) are outlined with gold embroidery. The lining is white silk. The dimensions are 77" by 7". The vintage condition is excellent. Your outfit is complete just by hanging this celebration scarf around your neck. This is magnificent wearable art.
