Description
This is a reversible celebration scarf with a pink shibori lining.  It is made from a high ranking  homongi  silk kimono where the design flowed perfectly across the seam lines.  Since the bolt of fabric was decorated before the kimono was cut and sewn, the creation took exceedingly high skill.  The scarf is made from a silk with a damask weave with kiku (chrysanthemums) in a diamond pattern.  The design includes hand painted abstract patches of pinks and blues with gold leaf stencil, flowers with gold leaf outlines and centers. The vintage condition is excellent.  The dimensions are 79" by 7".  You will find this scarf compliments and elevates many outfits.
