Key Features

• Artisan Silk  The silk is a damask weave with a subtle, irregular grid  pattern.  The color gradations were creating using skillful bokashi dyeing techniques.  The large irises are hand painted and several are outlined in gold braid embroidery.  The high skill of the Japanese artisans is seen in how amazingly the design matches at the seams, when one understands that the design was painted on the long bolt of silk before cutting and sewing. 
• Color and Design   Against a cream background, the predominant color is gradations of pink with areas of blues, greens and yellows. and highlights of navy.  Large pink and cream irises adorn the shoulders, sleeves and hem.  
• Universal Sizing  The centuries old Japanese T design flatters  all body sizes, with dropped shoulders and the traditional openings under the arms to accommodate multiple layers of robes.   The width between shoulder seams is 26.5 inches and the length is 48 inches. 
• Vintage Condition  The vintage condition is excellent, with no visible flaws and a clean lining.
