This light weight, silk vintage kimono jacket is a dochugi, a practical jacket that ties in the front and was originally worn primarily by shopkeepers. It has such a beautiful lining the jacket is reversible, making it a two for one. Shibori is an ancient art of tie dying, where thousands of tufts of silk are hand wrapped with string to make areas resistant to a dye. A master artisan created this one of a kind work of art that required at least three separate dyeings, one for each color. Another like it will not be made again. The vintage condition is excellent, the length is 32 inches long and the span between shoulder seams is 26 inches.
