• Artisan Silk Woven just for this one kimono, the damask weave silk has a subtle design of silk spools with loops of thread that catches the light.  The very fine, light weight kinsha silk is decorated with traditional squares decorated with abstract florals and swirls with just the hint of gold flecks.  The solid  red lining was a popular style before World War II; this is a collector's dream find.
• Universal sizing   The TT-shape of the kimono is many centuries old; it is a robe that wastes no material, uses straight seams and was designed for both men and women to wear.  The dropped shoulder seams accommodates most all sizes.  The width between shoulder seams on this vintage kimono is a generous 24.5 inches and the length is a versatile 44 inches.  The duster has the traditional opening under the arms to allow the kimono to be worn with many layers of inner robes
